David Chung: Driving Corporate Development and Strategic Growth
David Chung joins IonQ as VP of Corporate Development, bringing decades of experience in capital markets, strategic advisory, and technology investing. Over his career, Chung has led transactions exceeding $5 billion in equity and debt markets, supporting over 20 private and public companies with financing and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) initiatives spanning industries from software to deep tech. Notably, Chung played a critical role in IonQ’s journey to the public markets during his tenure at an SEC-registered investment firm. His efforts helped secure over $650 million in capital markets execution, positioning IonQ’s initial public offering (IPO) at a premium valuation—nearly three times higher than any subsequent quantum computing IPO. With his deep understanding of financial markets and strategic growth, Chung will spearhead IonQ’s efforts to capitalize on first-to-market opportunities and expand its corporate footprint.
Shad Reed: Elevating Quantum Solutions for the Public Sector
Dr. Shad Reed joins IonQ as VP of Engineering for the Public Sector, bringing a distinguished career in aerospace engineering, product delivery, and public sector leadership. Reed’s journey began in the U.S. Air Force, where he earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering and contributed to groundbreaking research through assignments with the Air Force Research Laboratory and academic institutions. After his military service, Reed served as Vice President of Engineering for the Altius business line at Anduril Industries, where he scaled the engineering team, delivered innovative solutions to government programs, and transitioned products from prototype to full-scale production. His expertise will strengthen IonQ’s engagement with government agencies and accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies in defense and public sector applications.
Petrina Zaraszczak: Optimizing Business Operations and Integration
Petrina Zaraszczak assumes the role of VP of Business Operations & Integration, bringing a wealth of experience in general management, product management, business development, and M&A within industrial and technology B2B sectors. Zaraszczak has successfully managed profit-and-loss (P&L) responsibilities ranging from $60 million to over $1 billion, demonstrating her ability to lead large-scale operations and drive strategic growth. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Strategic Business Management at Flowserve, where she optimized operational efficiency and led global teams in product management, strategic marketing, and business development. Zaraszczak’s comprehensive skill set will play a crucial role in streamlining IonQ’s operations and ensuring seamless integration as the company scales.
Sterling Zumbrunn: Advancing Quantum Networking Solutions
Sterling Zumbrunn joins IonQ as VP of Product Management for Networking, bringing over a decade of experience in scaling high-growth companies and leading product innovation. Prior to joining IonQ, Zumbrunn served as Vice President of Product Management at Payoneer Global Inc. and Vice President of Engineering, Product, and Design at SoFi Technologies, Inc. In these roles, he spearheaded initiatives that expanded customer bases and broadened product portfolios, showcasing his expertise in customer-centric development and scaling product management teams. At IonQ, Zumbrunn will focus on advancing the company’s quantum networking product portfolio, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of customers and stakeholders.
