ISACA and INGRYD Academy Join Forces to Train 10,000 Future Tech Professionals in Nigeria

ISACA and INGRYD Academy Partner to Train 10,000 Tech Professionals in Nigeria, Bridging Africa’s Digital Skills Gap

In a landmark collaboration aimed at advancing IT and information security readiness, global IT professional association ISACA has partnered with Nigeria-based tech talent training and outsourcing academy INGRYD Academy. This five-year initiative seeks to equip 10,000 aspiring tech professionals in Nigeria with the skills and resources needed to thrive in high-demand fields such as cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and IT audit. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to fostering workforce development, supporting Nigeria’s national goals, and addressing Africa’s growing demand for digital expertise.

Addressing Africa’s Digital Economy Challenges

Africa’s digital economy is poised to reach an estimated $180 billion by 2025, according to a report by IFC and Google. However, the region faces a significant shortage of trained professionals capable of meeting this growing demand. Nigeria, with over 100 million internet users and a rapidly expanding tech sector, is uniquely positioned to lead Africa’s digital transformation. Despite its potential, the country continues to grapple with gaps in cybersecurity capacity and workforce readiness. This collaboration between ISACA and INGRYD Academy aims to address these challenges at scale, empowering the next generation of tech professionals to drive innovation and economic growth.

Each year, 2,000 students from INGRYD Academy will benefit from a comprehensive program designed to build future-forward skills. Participants will receive access to several ISACA Fundamentals courses, a one-year ISACA student membership, and opportunities to engage with ISACA’s global professional community through workshops, conferences, and networking events. These initiatives will provide students with not only technical knowledge but also mentorship and exposure to global best practices, equipping them to tackle real-world challenges in cybersecurity, AI, and IT audit.

A Strategic Partnership for Workforce Development

The partnership aligns seamlessly with ISACA’s broader academic and workforce development efforts, which aim to support learners worldwide in acquiring in-demand IT and cybersecurity skills. By collaborating with organizations like INGRYD Academy, ISACA is helping communities grow their digital trust workforce and meet the evolving needs of businesses globally. Similarly, INGRYD Academy’s mission to produce highly trained tech talent with the right expertise, culture, and work readiness complements ISACA’s goals, creating a synergy that amplifies the program’s impact.

“This partnership marks a transformative step in our mission to close the digital skills gap in Africa,” said HRM Khadijat Abdulkadir, CEO of INGRYD Academy. “By equipping 10,000 learners with globally recognized training, we’re enabling long-term career mobility. We’re not just creating tech talent—we’re building a generation of problem-solvers and digital leaders. That’s the kind of impact that moves nations forward.”

Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Leaders

The collaboration provides a unique opportunity to expand IT and cybersecurity training across Nigeria, contributing to the global effort to close the tech talent gap. For aspiring professionals, the program offers a pathway to develop relevant skills that are critical for launching successful careers. Courses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies will prepare students to address the complex challenges of today’s digital landscape.

“Empowering the next generation as they embark on their tech career journeys not only ensures the strength of our global IT and cybersecurity workforce but also builds tech and cyber capability—a critical enabler of economic growth and overall societal prosperity through the safer adoption of digital technologies,” said Chris Dimitriadis, ISACA Chief Global Strategy Officer. “We are excited about our partnership with INGRYD Academy, and we applaud its efforts to open new learning pathways for students and work towards a safer digital world.”

The program also emphasizes the importance of mentorship and networking. Through ISACA’s global chapters, students will have the chance to connect with industry experts, share ideas, and gain insights into best practices. These interactions will help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the tech ecosystem.

Driving Economic Growth and Innovation

The collaboration between ISACA and INGRYD Academy represents more than just a training initiative—it is a powerful driver of opportunity and change. By providing Nigerian students with globally recognized credentials and connecting them to ISACA’s extensive network, the partnership opens doors to new careers and fosters sustainable growth and innovation across the region.

“The collaboration between ISACA and INGRYD Academy represents a powerful driver of opportunity and change,” said Gustavo Frega, Senior Academic Strategy and Business Partnership Manager at ISACA. “By providing Nigerian students with globally recognized credentials and connecting them to ISACA’s community, INGRYD Academy is opening doors to new careers and empowering the younger generations to contribute to sustainable growth and innovation across the region.”

Building a Safer Digital Future

As digital technologies continue to reshape economies and societies, the need for skilled professionals who can ensure their safe and secure adoption becomes increasingly critical. This partnership addresses that need by nurturing talent that can protect digital ecosystems while driving progress. By focusing on cybersecurity, AI, and IT audit, the program ensures that participants are equipped to handle both current and future challenges.
