HCLTech Launches Third Edition of Climate Action Grant in the Americas, Offering $1 Million to Drive Innovation Against Climate Change
HCLTech, a leading global technology company, has announced the launch of the third edition of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas, reaffirming its long-term commitment to environmental sustainability and community-led innovation. Building on the success of the previous two years, the 2025–2026 edition will award $1 million in grants to three non-profit organizations working to address the climate crisis and restore biodiversity across 10 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the United States.
Expanding Impact Across the Americas
The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas was first launched in 2023 as part of the company’s $5 million, five-year pledge to foster scalable, replicable, and sustainable climate solutions. The initiative is designed to empower non-profit organizations that are actively developing innovative approaches to mitigate climate change and promote environmental restoration at the grassroots level.
“The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas has received an overwhelming response from organizations bringing fresh thinking and deep local insight to climate action,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech. “The diversity of ideas and the passion driving these projects reaffirm our belief that innovation and collaboration are key to shaping climate action. As we enter the next phase, we remain committed to partnering with changemakers who are shaping sustainable solutions for their communities and beyond.”
Proven Success and Measurable Results
Over its first two editions, the program has already made a meaningful difference in environmental restoration and sustainability education. To date, HCLTech has awarded $2 million in grants to six non-profit organizations, enabling significant on-the-ground progress across the region.
These initiatives have collectively achieved:
- Empowerment of over 1,400 young people and educators through sustainability training and community engagement programs.
- Restoration of 88 acres of longleaf pine forest, with more than 50,000 trees planted to enhance biodiversity and sequester carbon.
- Engagement of over 1,000 students in designing and implementing sustainable community models that foster environmental stewardship.
These outcomes reflect the tangible community-level impact of the Climate Action Grant, demonstrating how targeted funding and collaboration can inspire systemic change and resilience against climate-related challenges.
Strengthening Sustainability Leadership
HCLTech’s Climate Action Grant aligns with the company’s broader global sustainability vision—to supercharge progress for people and the planet. The company continues to integrate sustainability across its operations and value chain, and it has earned multiple recognitions for its environmental performance and corporate responsibility.
Recent accolades include:
- A ‘Gold’ rating from EcoVadis for advanced sustainability performance.
- Inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024 for the third consecutive year.
- Achieving a 98% ‘Platinum’ rating for its owned buildings, as certified by Green Building Councils.
These achievements underscore HCLTech’s ongoing dedication to embedding sustainable practices into both its business operations and social impact initiatives.
