TRG Datacenters Breaks Ground on HOU2: A 24 MW Expansion in Houston
TRG Datacenters, a premier developer and operator of mission-critical digital infrastructure backed by Tallvine Partners, has officially broken ground on HOU2, its second data center located in Spring, Texas. This milestone comes just months after securing financial backing from Tallvine Partners, reflecting TRG’s ability to respond swiftly to the growing demand for enterprise, hosting, cloud, and AI-driven data center solutions. The new facility, which spans 110,000 square feet, will add 24 megawatts of utility capacity to TRG’s portfolio, with move-in-ready IT capacity expected as early as Q4 2026.
The development of HOU2 builds on the success of HOU1, TRG’s first data center in Spring, which has achieved 100% uptime since its launch in 2018. Serving over 160 customers—including multiple Fortune 500 companies—HOU1 has established itself as a reliable hub for mission-critical operations. Designed with the same commitment to reliability, sustainability, and flexibility, HOU2 will feature distributed-redundant infrastructure and adaptable data halls capable of supporting diverse enterprise, hosting, cloud, and AI workloads.
Meeting Growing Demand in a Supply-Constrained Market
The decision to expand TRG’s footprint in Houston underscores the company’s strategic response to escalating demand for high-quality data center infrastructure. With HOU1 nearing full subscription, the HOU2 expansion provides much-needed capacity in a market where supply constraints have become increasingly challenging.
“TRG’s strong track record of delivering high-quality infrastructure and customer service has brought us to an inflection point, with HOU1 nearly fully subscribed and HOU2 construction now underway,” said Christopher Hinkle, CEO of TRG Datacenters. “With secured power capacity on an entitled, operational site that hosts 16 carriers and more than 160 existing clients, the HOU2 expansion offers a level of certainty our customers can rely on in an otherwise supply-constrained U.S. data center market.”
The HOU2 facility is purpose-built to meet the evolving needs of enterprises navigating the complexities of digital transformation. Its flexible design ensures it can accommodate a wide range of customer requirements, from traditional IT workloads to cutting-edge AI applications.
A Celebration of Collaboration and Expertise
The groundbreaking ceremony for HOU2 took place on November 14, 2025, and was attended by industry leaders and project partners, including CenterPoint Energy, Walker Engineering, HTS, Thomas Craig Construction, and Encore Concrete Construction. These partners played a pivotal role in bringing the project to life, ensuring the facility meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
“This expansion is fully aligned with Tallvine’s organic growth strategy for the TRG platform and follows accelerating customer demand across the business,” said Mark Clark, Partner at Tallvine Partners. “We look forward to supporting TRG’s continued growth in both existing and new markets in the years ahead.”
Tallvine’s investment in TRG reflects confidence in the company’s ability to scale while maintaining its reputation for excellence. The partnership has enabled TRG to accelerate its expansion plans, positioning the company as a leader in the rapidly evolving data center landscape.
Commitment to Customers and Community
TRG Datacenters expressed gratitude to the sponsors, speakers, and local leaders who joined the groundbreaking celebration. The event highlighted not only the company’s commitment to innovation but also its dedication to fostering strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the broader community.
“TRG Datacenters thanks the sponsors, speakers, and local leaders who joined us in celebrating this important milestone,” commented Bob West, Head of Revenue at TRG Datacenters. “We also extend our appreciation to our customers, vendors, CenterPoint, and Tallvine. We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and partnership with HOU2.”
The HOU2 project underscores TRG’s focus on sustainability and operational excellence. By leveraging advanced technologies and adhering to rigorous environmental standards, the facility is designed to minimize its carbon footprint while maximizing energy efficiency. This aligns with TRG’s broader mission to provide sustainable, future-proof solutions for its customers.
Addressing the Needs of a Dynamic Market
As businesses increasingly rely on data-intensive applications such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing, the demand for scalable, reliable data center infrastructure continues to grow. TRG’s expansion into HOU2 positions the company to meet this demand head-on, offering customers a robust platform to support their most critical operations.
The facility’s location in Spring, Texas, further enhances its appeal. Known for its robust power grid, strategic connectivity, and business-friendly environment, the Houston area has emerged as a key hub for data center development. With HOU2, TRG solidifies its presence in this thriving market while laying the groundwork for future expansions.
