The automotive retail industry has struggled with stagnant key performance indicators for decades, despite significant technology investments. Dealerships continue wrestling with fragmented systems, operational silos, and software solutions that layer complexity rather than eliminate it. While other industries have experienced measurable productivity gains through digital transformation, automotive retail has largely seen incremental improvements that fail to move the needle on critical business metrics.
Tekion Unveils Agentic AI Suite to Address Decades of Industry Stagnation
At the 2026 NADA Show in Las Vegas, Tekion founder and CEO Jay Vijayan presented a vision for breaking through this performance plateau. The company announced three new AI agents—Scheduler AI, Technician AI, and T1—as part of its expanding Agentic AI suite, built on what Tekion positions as the industry’s only end-to-end, AI-native automotive retail platform.
“Key industry KPIs have been stagnant for decades in spite of the plethora of new software available to dealers in the market,” Vijayan stated during his keynote. “For the first time in years, there is a real opportunity with AI to show a significant increase in these KPIs.”
The announcement comes as Tekion reports over 60% revenue growth in its Automotive Retail Cloud (ARC) platform during 2025, signaling strong market adoption of its unified platform approach.
What Distinguishes AI-Native from AI-Augmented Platforms
Tekion emphasizes a fundamental architectural difference in its approach. Rather than adding AI capabilities as overlays to existing systems, the company built intelligence directly into core dealership workflows from the ground up. This AI-native architecture operates on a unified data model, single security framework, and integrated cloud infrastructure—designed to eliminate the operational silos that have historically fragmented dealership technology stacks.
This unified foundation enables Tekion’s AI agents to access real-time dealership data across sales, service, parts, accounting, and customer interactions, providing what the company describes as comprehensive business context for more accurate and actionable outputs.
Three New AI Agents Target Specific Dealership Pain Points
Scheduler AI functions as a consumer-facing agent that autonomously handles appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations. By connecting to a complete customer profile view, the agent aims to reduce inbound call volume while improving customer experience through 24/7 availability.
Technician AI represents an industry-first capability: an AI agent that accepts voice or visual inputs (video and images) from technicians and analyzes historical and real-time vehicle data, service records, and repair patterns. The agent pre-populates inspection information to enhance consistency and accuracy in service operations while reducing documentation time.
T1 serves as a conversational interface to dealership data, enabling employees to query information about customers, transactions, repair orders, inventory, and accounting through natural language. The system provides role-specific answers and can trigger actions through other Tekion AI agents.
Enterprise Security Meets Responsible AI Standards
Alongside product announcements, Tekion revealed it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001 certification, positioning itself among the first automotive retail platform providers to meet this global standard for Responsible Artificial Intelligence Management Systems. This certification addresses growing industry concerns about data privacy, AI governance, and compliance in enterprise software deployments.
The company also announced Automotive Partner Cloud (APC) 2.0, featuring the Tekion App Store—a centralized marketplace designed to streamline partner ecosystem integration, app discovery, and billing processes.
Tekion plans to detail its complete 2026 product roadmap at its inaugural Tekion One automotive conference, emphasizing continued development of AI agents designed to deliver measurable business outcomes across dealership operations.
