Chilipad Unveils Redesigned Chilipad 2.0 Bed Cooling System with Innovative Nightstand Remote

A ground-up redesign of Chilipad’s cooling mattress topper and temperature-control system, featuring a first-of-its-kind nightstand remote, simplified setup, and U.S.-based engineering.

Chilipad announced the launch of the Chilipad 2.0, a redesigned performance cooling mattress topper that actively heats and cools the bed using water, built to simplify how people control their sleep environment. Built from thousands of customer insights gathered over several years, the new system introduces a more intuitive experience, including an industry-first nightstand remote with control available even without a phone or internet connection, and quieter operation. The launch is supported by new U.S. based engineering, assembly, and R&D operations at the company’s North Carolina facility, accelerating development cycles and contributing to the growth of skilled technical jobs in the region.

While cooling fabrics and gel toppers offer only temporary relief, Chilipad 2.0 actively circulates water to precisely control bed temperature from 55°F to 115°F, giving you real control over your sleep. The result is not just a cooler bed, but all-night temperature control that helps reduce night sweats, limit sleep interruptions, and improve overall sleep quality.

Every element of Chilipad 2.0 was redesigned with purpose. Key upgrades across the system include:

  • Cover: An updated Hydrolayer design now slides out for easy washing, expanded size compatibility (including Full and Twin XL), and a built-in mattress protector; a first for the category.
  • Dock: Quieter than ever, with a redesigned digital display that adjusts for bedside readability, an easier-to-fill water reservoir, and on-dock onboarding that requires no app to set up.
  • Remote: Now included in every box. The tactile, nightstand-ready remote lets sleepers adjust temperature, view their sleep climate, and trigger sleep schedules with in-bed detection; an industry first.
  • App: Fully redesigned with a cleaner interface and smarter sleep program controls, for those who prefer a more data-driven experience.
  • No Subscription. Unlike some competitors, Chilipad 2.0 requires no ongoing fees to access its full capabilities.

The redesigned app enables personalized sleep schedules that automatically adjust bed temperatures throughout the night, including Warm Awake, which gradually raises temperature before wake, helping create a more consistent and restorative sleep experience. All core electronics (the Dock and Remote) are designed and assembled in the United States, and every system ships with a two-year warranty; double its predecessor and is built to be modular and repairable, eliminating the need to replace the entire unit if one component needs attention.

“We combined powerful cooling with a modular, easy-to-set-up cover, along with a nightstand remote and no required subscriptions, making consistent, cooler sleep easier to achieve,” said Robbie Falls, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Chilipad. “At its core, the Chilipad experience is about giving customers control, whether they prefer to use a remote or an app, a single- or dual-zone setup, or operate the system connected or offline.”

“Chilipad 2.0 is proof that the best products get built when engineering and manufacturing share a hallway, not an ocean,” said Trey Robinson, Chief Technology Officer at Chilipad. “Our new North Carolina facility brings U.S.-based engineering, an advanced assembly line, and our R&D lab together in one place. That lets us iterate faster, build a more reliable system, and grow a team of skilled technical workers right here at home.”

Designed for sleepers who struggle with overheating and need reliable control over their sleep environment, the Chilipad 2.0 was made for people with different temperature preferences to high performers focused on recovery, to individuals experiencing night sweats or temperature fluctuations, including during perimenopause and menopause. By combining precise cooling with a more intuitive, flexible system, it helps people maintain a more consistent and comfortable sleep environment across all stages of life.

“The science here is unambiguous: your core body temperature needs to drop in order to initiate and sustain deep sleep,” said Dr. Chris Winter, board-certified neurologist, sleep medicine specialist, and author of The Sleep Solution. “Most people have no idea that their bedroom or their partner’s body heat is actively working against that process every night. What Chilipad 2.0 does is give you precise, reliable control over that variable, which is something no mattress, no supplement, and no sleep tracking device alone can offer. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when people optimize their sleep temperature: deeper slow-wave sleep, better physical recovery, sharper mornings. This isn’t another wellness fad. It’s applied sleep science in a product that actually works.”

Chilipad 2.0 is available starting today, May 19, 2026, at sleep.me/product/chilipad. The system is offered in single- and dual-zone configurations and fits most standard bed sizes, including Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, and Split King.
