Crucial Expands Memory and Storage Portfolio to Deliver Unmatched Performance for Consumers
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) unveiled significant expansions to its Crucial consumer memory and storage portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to delivering powerful performance gains for users across all computing needs. The highlight of the announcement is the launch of the high-speed Crucial P510 SSD, alongside expanded density and form factor options in its DRAM lineup. These updates aim to provide consumers with broader choices, enhanced flexibility, and cutting-edge technology for everything from gaming to professional creative work.
Blazing-Fast Gen5 SSDs for the Masses
The new Crucial P510 SSD sets a new standard for speed and efficiency, offering read and write speeds of up to 11,000/9,550 megabytes per second (MB/s). This marks Crucial’s entry into mainstream Gen5 SSDs, making lightning-fast performance accessible to a wider audience. Built for both laptops and desktops, the P510 consumes 25% less power than previous Crucial Gen5 SSDs, extending battery life while delivering top-tier performance.
“With the exciting memory and storage offerings we’re debuting today, Crucial’s portfolio is now broader and stronger than ever before,” said Dinesh Bahal, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Micron’s Commercial Products Group. “These updates—from making fast Gen5 SSDs available to the mainstream to launching high-density memory options—illustrate our commitment to driving innovation, performance, and value for every consumer, from casual gamers to creatives, students, and hardcore enthusiasts.”
Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, the P510 features an integrated heatsink and a single-sided design, making it easy to install even in newer Gen5-enabled laptops. Its combination of speed, efficiency, and reliability ensures smoother multitasking, faster load times, and immersive experiences for gaming and creative applications.
Additionally, Crucial is expanding its SSD offerings with a heatsink version of the P310 2280 SSD, designed to fit seamlessly into PlayStation 5 consoles while also supporting desktop use. With read speeds of 7,100 MB/s, this SSD delivers fast, reliable, and power-efficient storage at an affordable price point.
Elevating Gaming and AI-Driven PCs with Higher-Density Memory Modules
In addition to its new storage solutions, Crucial is significantly enhancing its consumer memory portfolio with several key updates:
- Crucial DDR5 Pro Overclocking (OC) Gaming Memory:
Crucial has introduced a new 32GB density option for its DDR5 Pro OC Gaming Memory, available in speed grades of 6000 MT/s and 6400 MT/s. This expansion allows gamers and DIY enthusiasts to enjoy faster, smoother gameplay and multitasking without bottlenecks or slow frame rates. - Crucial DDR5 Pro Plug-and-Play Memory:
For users seeking hassle-free performance upgrades, Crucial’s DDR5 Pro Plug-and-Play Memory eliminates the complexities of overclocking and tuning. The company is now offering a 64GB module operating at 5,600 MT/s, making it the world’s first DDR5 64GB module with a heat spreader. A 128GB kit (two 64GB modules) is also available, enabling users to future-proof their systems for data-intensive tasks like 3D modeling, graphic design, and real-time rendering. - Crucial DDR5 CUDIMM/CSODIMM:
Building on its October launch of CUDIMM and CSODIMM modules, Crucial is now offering these solutions in higher densities: 32GB and 64GB for CUDIMMs and 24GB and 32GB for CSODIMMs, all clocked at 6400 MT/s. These additions make Crucial the market leader in JEDEC-compliant CUDIMM and CSODIMM offerings, catering to data-intensive AI PCs and other advanced computing needs. - Crucial DDR5 UDIMM/SODIMM:
Crucial Classic DDR5 Memory is now available in a 64GB density at 5,600 MT/s, spanning both UDIMM and SODIMM form factors. Designed for next-generation multi-core CPUs, these modules enable better multitasking, faster file handling, and reduced system lag, making them ideal for heavy workloads. - MRDIMM:
Crucial is also shipping Multiplexed Rank Dual Inline Memory Modules (MRDIMMs) through distribution channels. These solutions deliver unparalleled bandwidth and capacity at lower latency, scaling AI inference and high-performance computing applications on next-generation server platforms.
