Keysight Broadens NR-NTN Validation Coverage After GCF CAG #87
New RRM validations expand Keysight’s certification-ready NR-NTN coverage to help accelerate satellite direct-to-device commercialization Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) has expanded its New Radio Non-Terrestrial Network (NR-NTN) device acceptance test coverage following approved validations at the Global Certification Forum (GCF) Certification Agreement Group (CAG) #87 meeting in Warsaw. Achieved under Work Item (WI) 555, the new Radio Resource Management (RRM) validations strengthen Keysight’s recognized NR-NTN test portfolio across RF/performance and RRM coverage, helping chipset makers, device manufacturers, certification laboratories, and operators prepare for satellite direct-to-device certification and commercialization.
As satellite and wireless networks converge, NR-NTN is moving from standards development toward commercial deployment, while laying important groundwork for the continued integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks in future 6G systems. With non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) constellations expected to support satellite direct-to-device connectivity, the ecosystem needs approved, standards-based test content to confirm that chipsets and devices perform reliably before launch. GCF certification, based on Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) test specifications, provides a common global framework for conformance and interoperability as satellite-enabled 5G services move closer to market.
Following CAG #87, and based on the post-meeting validation snapshot dated July 23, 2026, Keysight holds 113 validated NR-NTN conformance test cases across 3GPP 38.521-5 and 38.533, covering RF/performance and RRM. These newly approved Release 17 validations were achieved using Keysight’s Wireless Network Emulation Solutions and expand the company’s certification-ready NR-NTN coverage. Separately, Keysight’s broader NR-NTN capabilities support customer development for evolving Release 18 and Release 19 requirements, helping the ecosystem reduce risk, accelerate certification readiness, and build toward future 6G non-terrestrial networks.
