
Quectel Launches Advanced Smart Single Board Computers to Accelerate IoT Innovation
Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global leader in end-to-end IoT solutions, has unveiled three new smart single board computers (SBCs): the QSM368Z, QSM560DR, and QSM668SR. These boards are designed to empower developers with cost-effective, fully certified, and versatile platforms that streamline the development of intelligent devices and accelerate digital transformation. By offering a wide range of connectivity options, operating system flexibility, and memory configurations, these SBCs cater to diverse application needs across industries.

QSM368Z: Powering Edge Computing and Multimedia Applications
At the core of the QSM368Z is the Rockchip RK3568 IoT processor, which features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU, ARM Mali G52 GPU, an 8M ISP HDR, and a 1 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU). This powerful combination delivers exceptional computing, graphics, and edge AI capabilities, enabling developers to run complex workloads, perform real-time data analysis, and support advanced imaging applications directly at the edge.
The QSM368Z supports both Linux and Android, providing developers with the flexibility to build on familiar, open platforms and accelerate software development cycles. Its dual OS compatibility ensures seamless integration across commercial and industrial systems, making it ideal for digital signage, industrial control dashboards, machine vision systems, and more.
To enhance multimedia experiences, the board includes triple-screen concurrent display support, 1000 Mbps Ethernet, and 4K video encoding. These features are essential for modern applications such as smart retail displays, industrial automation, and safety monitoring systems. The integrated NPU enables the execution of deep learning algorithms, empowering real-time decision-making for smart manufacturing and factory automation.
Connectivity is another standout feature of the QSM368Z. It comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2, with optional support for Quectel’s LTE Cat 1, LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 6, and GNSS modules. This versatility allows developers to tailor network performance for specific environments, from high-bandwidth industrial networks to remote or mobile IoT deployments.
Measuring 120mm x 100mm x 22.25mm and weighing approximately 90 grams, the QSM368Z is compact yet rugged. It operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +75°C, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications where stability and durability are critical.
QSM560DR: High-Performance Edge Computing for Demanding Applications
The QSM560DR is engineered for applications that demand high data throughput, low latency, and advanced multimedia performance. Powered by a robust processing architecture and a 12 TOPS NPU, this board supports Ubuntu, Android, and Windows, giving developers unparalleled flexibility to create solutions for industrial, commercial, and consumer markets.
One of its standout features is multi-mode 5G capability, supporting both NSA and SA networks with 3G and 4G fallback. This ensures stable and consistent connectivity even in areas with variable coverage. Additionally, Wi-Fi 6E with DBS (Dual Band Simultaneous) and 2×2 MU-MIMO technologies enables faster data transmission and greater network efficiency, which are crucial for smart retail, industrial automation, robotics, and safety monitoring systems.
With downlink speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps on 5G NSA, the QSM560DR facilitates real-time transfer of high-resolution data, video, and sensor information. Its multi-antenna design minimizes transmission errors and optimizes throughput, making it ideal for demanding environments where reliability and precision are paramount.
Measuring 120.5mm x 106mm x 22.5mm and weighing approximately 120 grams, the QSM560DR is built for industrial-grade durability, operating within a temperature range of -35°C to +75°C. QSM668SR: Versatile and Efficient Edge Computing
The QSM668SR offers efficient processing and graphics performance for everyday edge computing needs. With support for Android, Linux, and Ubuntu, as well as a 1.1 TOPS NPU, this board provides developers with a flexible platform for building customized smart solutions across diverse environments.
The QSM668SR supports multiple network modes, including LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS. Under LTE Cat 4, it achieves uplink speeds of up to 150 Mbps and downlink speeds of up to 50 Mbps, ensuring stable data transmission for bandwidth-intensive applications. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.0 and advanced Wi-Fi options enhances wireless performance, enabling seamless device pairing and data exchange.
For applications requiring precise location tracking, optional GNSS functionality leverages GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS satellite constellations. This makes the QSM668SR ideal for fleet management, logistics, and mobile industrial systems.
Equipped with extensive multimedia and peripheral interfaces—including HDMI, camera inputs, Ethernet, UART, USB, I²C, RS232, RS485, CAN, SD, and SIM—the QSM668SR supports a wide range of connected devices and sensors. Its versatility makes it suitable for IoT gateways, smart home systems, industrial control terminals, retail solutions, safety monitoring, vehicle equipment, and logistics devices.
Compact and durable, the QSM668SR measures 102mm x 100mm x 23mm, weighs approximately 97.7 grams, and operates reliably in temperatures from -20°C to +75°C. This balance of processing capability, connectivity, and adaptability positions the QSM668SR as a versatile platform for next-generation connected solutions.
